On February 19, Infinite Energy announced that it is among the 100 businesses named on the 2016 Gator 100 list, a roster of companies led by University of Florida (UF) graduates. This is the first time Infinite Energy has been honored with this recognition.
In addition, the company was this year’s sole recipient of the university’s Pinnacle Award, recognizing Infinite Energy as an established Gator-led business that has made a significant impact over time through job creation, revenue generation and innovation in its industry.
Over 400 companies were nominated, and the results were announced at the university’s Gainesville, Florida, campus at a day of special events, including a gala luncheon and breakout sessions led by a number of Gator 100 honorees. The events are sponsored by UF’s Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation, of the Warrington College of Business Administration.
“We have so many employees who attended or are attending UF, and the skills these people gained from their studies there have rewarded us handsomely,” said Infinite Energy CEO Darin Cook. “This honor ultimately belongs to our customers, both residential and commercial, who believed in the vision I share with our co-CEO, Rich Blaser.
“Starting any business requires a great deal of courage, thought and planning. Then it’s up to the market to decide if what you’re doing has value. After more than 20 years in business, I guess we know the decision,” Cook said. “Go Gators!”
The Gator 100 list is one of many awards bestowed upon Infinite Energy. The company has been repeatedly named by Florida Trend and Outside magazines as one of the best places to work in Florida. Mr. Blaser was recipient of the 2015 Impact Award from Business Magazine Gainesville. The company has also been recognized by the Gainesville Chamber of Commerce for the Best Overall Large Business award.
