Infinite Energy knows these are challenging times for many people. Some customers may need assistance with their energy bills, and we’d like to share information that can help.
Residential natural gas customers should visit Atlanta Gas Light Company’s Energy Assistance program website page. Here, they can find out more about this program and several other ways organizations can provide help paying energy bills. The United Way can refer customers to these programs by calling 211 from anywhere in Georgia.
For example, low-income customers age 65 and over may qualify for reduced base charges from AGLC. There is also LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program), which uses federal grant money to help pay energy bills. And there is ClearPoint, a national nonprofit credit counseling agency. Call them at (800) 750-2227. Spanish-speaking customers can call (866) 559-8198.
Residential electricity customers should know about the LITE-UP Texas Program, administered by the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT). Visit their web page for details on who can qualify for electric bill assistance.
An energy audit can help Texas homeowners find ways to weatherize their home and lower utility bills. Perhaps there are air leaks or other issues that are causing increased electricity usage. The program is run by the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs. Their website offers this and many other kinds of assistance.
Infinite Energy encourages our customers to remember that asking for help is a sign of strength, and that there are many people who will be happy to get them what they need.
