Celebrating Sales Professionals

In recognition of National Salesperson Day on March 1, we sat down with our very own Neil F.—one of our best salespeople. We knew he’d have a valuable perspective on the job and what it’s like to work here at Infinite Energy.

Here we go …

So, how long have you worked at Infinite Energy, Neil, and what brought you here?
It’ll be five years this June. Time sure flies when you love what you do!

I moved to Gainesville in 2005, and I’d heard great things about working here, but I was in a stable, successful career as a massage therapist. It was time for a change when my body couldn’t handle the physical demand of that profession any longer. So, I applied for a sales position here and got the job.

Did you have any background in sales before coming here?
Well, since the age of 16, I’ve been in sales or marketing of some kind—as a hobby, selling cars and boats and motorcycles online. And I’ve done it professionally, too, working at one point in real estate and even selling cars at Mercedes Benz.

I’ve always been passionate about sales because I love helping people figure out what options work best for them. Whatever you’re investing in, whether it’s a t-shirt or a car or even an energy plan, you’ve got to know it will work well for you.

What’s the best part about working here—what keeps you at Infinite Energy?
There are so many things! I love our work environment and culture as a whole. The benefits package, on-site gym, competitive compensation, top-notch management/leadership and work family colleagues are all reasons I stay.

Also, I love that it’s not cutthroat here. I have a good work-life balance, and we all look out for one another and our customers and work as a team. All of that is important to me.

As one of our best salespeople, do you have a sales philosophy?
It’s the golden rule when it comes to customers! I try to treat them—and potential customers—the same way I’d want to be treated, not like a number. I stick to our values here, looking to be present, empathetic, respectful and knowledgeable. Infinite Energy has a ton of rate plans, so my job is to help customers find the one that’s going to be the right fit for them.

And when you’re not doing sales?
I love traveling, fishing, shooting pool, playing video games and, occasionally, golf. My family and I love hosting game nights with friends, going to theme parks or just staying in for movie nights.

At Infinite Energy, we take pride in our employees, and we want all of them to feel like Neil—that this company is a place worth coming to. We want to wish him and salespeople everywhere a happy National Salesperson Day!
